Homework Help - Photos by Ben Andrus (11/07):

The assignment included 'high key' shots (white clothing with a white background) and being the brilliant guy that he his, his mind leapt immediately to fencing!

Grrr!

The Beast and the Beauty?

Almost looking official!

He got tons of good shots of Chelsa!

We bouted in the studio. Really. Maybe. Not.

Ta da!

Take that!

Kitchenette-slash-waiting area

Nice, open floorspace...

...with plenty of benches for resting between bouts

Ready to go!

Thanks to Lisa and her husband for sharing these pics!

First Ever Wet and Wild Fencing Event:

Ed wins the Golden Bellguard for IWFC Super Fencer of the Year!

David and Vicki model the IWFC epeeists' new motto.
Hm, what WOULD Randy do?

Who knew you could use water balloons as penalty cards??

Proper fencing technique, distance, etc. went RIGHT out the window -- those balloons were harder to pop than we thought!

With the perversity typical of water balloons, they were either EXTREMELY resistant to bursting...

...or they popped with absolutely no provocation at all!

Where's Balint's balloon?  Check under Neal's foot!

Lisa wonders how the heck her target area got waaay down there!

Balint had a knack for finding odd balloons.

A midair collision between lobbed balloon and blade.

Dorothy doesn't know how close she came to actually getting that BIG HUG!!

Those of us on the sidelines were glad Kim wasn't aiming that smile -- and HUGE balloon -- at us!

Balint suffers a fatal wound!

Josh and Neal start it off old school style.

INCOMING!!!!

SPLAT!

Vicki's all wet -- no surprise there!

Balint shows it's okay to get hit as long as the resulting picture looks cool.

Our weary Wet and Wild warriors.

All hail Kim, Water Balloon Queen!

The rest of my favorite pics for this are here -- there were just too many fun ones!
